Day 185, Evening

Today’s evening meditation is available below in audio and script formats. The audio version is also available for free download on the player.

Reading

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

You who are trying to be justified by good behavior have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope. Keeping all of the rules is not what counts. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.

—Galatians 5 (NT)

Stillness

As you spend the final moments of your day in meditation, think about God’s love for you, apart from your good works. If you are comfortable doing so, quietly repeat the phrase, “God loves me as I am, not as I think I should be” aloud.

Blessing

“Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in him, for he shields them all day long, and those that the Lord loves rest between his shoulders.”

—Deuteronomy 33 (OT)
