Day 200, Morning

Today’s morning meditation is available below in audio and script formats. The audio version is also available for free download on the player.

Reading

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses looking on us from the heavens, let us throw off everything that hinders us and the unhealthy desires that so easily entangle us. Let us run with perseverance the path laid out before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. Because of joy, he endured the cross, scorning its shame. Now consider him who endured such opposition, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

—Hebrews 12:1-3

Stillness

As your day begins, spend a few moments in silence and stillness, meditating on the words that you just read.

Dwelling

Be reminded that you are in God’s presence and read again. Notice how God might be speaking to you through the words. Dwell on a word or phrase that jumps out at you, and let your heart respond to God in silent prayer.

Prayer

Pioneer and perfecter of my faith, I need help when troubles come, faith wanes, and I feel like giving up. As you kept focused on the joy set before you, keep my eyes fixed on you. May that rich hope keep me steadfast. Amen. (HC)
