Day 239, Evening

Today’s evening meditation is available below in audio and script formats. The audio version is also available for free download on the player.

Reading

I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a poem of praise to God. Many will see it and put their trust in the Lord. Blessed is the one who does not look to the proud, to those who turn to invented gods.

—Psalm 40 (OT)

Quiet

As your day draws to a close, spend a few moments in silence and stillness.

Affirmation

I will be patient, for God hears me.

I will be patient, for God is with me.

I will not give up, for God is the ground on which I stand.

I will not keep silent, for God’s good words are in my mouth.

I will live.

Amen.
